Question: Truck wont start when hot
I have a 1987 Dodge D-150 V-8 360 5.9L automatic transmission. I have a problem with my truck not starting when it is warm. First thing in the morning, it turns over with no problem. After I drive it and get it up to temp, if I shut the engine off, if takes a while for it to turn over and I have to hold over the ignition for quite a while to finally get it. I just put an engine block heater, frost plug style , heater in to it last night because winter is coming and temps in Michigan get very low. After leaving in plugged in over night and confirming that it heated the engine, I had the same issue with it not wanting to turn over. I have replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, air filter, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires. None have fixed the issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
