  • "I have owned a Toyota for 24 years - a Tercel, 1st make Sequoia and now the Highlander. I wish they didn't make the Sequoia bigger because I would've gotten another one. It is taking some adjustment to the Highlander but it is a very nice car and I love the way it drives. A few complaints - The tan leather gets stained by blue jeans and any other dark clothing. The seats look really dirty and it is almost impossible to get out. The guy at the dealership said he would try and clean them with a special cleaner. If he did, I did not notice a difference. I would NOT recommend tan leather interior - even though it was a definite requirement for me when looking for a new car. The screen for GPS/radio system should be set back inward because it is impossible to read when the sun shines thru and glares on the screen. The location of where the front seatbelt is bolted in the floor is in horrible place. Every person that sits behind the driver always puts their foot on it causing the lap part of the seatbelt to tighten. There are no sensors in the front of the car, which I find a little odd. Sometimes I have noticed a person walking behind me and the sensors not sound, but they will sound when a vehicle is coming before/after the person has walked by. Maybe they only sense cars, not people. I love the captain seats in the middle row. The dashboard ledge is great. The heating/cooling seats are wonderful! The third row seats are very easy to lay down without having to climb into car. The captain seats roll forward nicely for others to get in third row. I do love the way the car drives and I feel very safe driving it! I would recommend a Highlander to others."

  • "THE PROBLEM I HAVE HAD WAS AFTER PARKING IN THE GARAGE AT NIGHT . I OPENED THE GARAGE DOOR THE NEXT MORNING IT HUNG UP ON THE REAR CAR DOOR WHICH WAS OPEN. IT SCRATCHED THE PAINT AND A SMALL DENT. I KNOW THE REAR CAR DOOR WAS CLOSED THAT NIGHT AS I HAVE TO WALK AROUND THE REAR TO GET INTO THE HOUSE. THE CAR MUST HAVE PICKED UP STRAY SIGNAL I ALWAYS CHECK THE CAR DOOR NOW BEFORE THE GARAGE AND THE CAR DOOR WAS OPEN ONLY ONE OTHER TIME. JIM RICHARDSON"
